What is an e-Visa to Turkey

The Turkey e-Visa is an online visa implemented by the Turkish authorities in order to facilitate the process of obtaining a visa without the need to visit the embassy or consulate.
Most applicants eligible for the Turkish e-Visa just need to hold a valid passport, valid means of online payment, and an active email address to complete the online application within minutes entirely from the comfort of their homes.
Turkey offers e-Visa for one or multiple entries permitting a 30-day or 90-day stay, respectively. Both visa types remain effective for 6 months from the date of issue.
A holder of a Turkish e-Visa must enter the country within 30 days from the date the visa was issued and no later than 3 months after the issue date.

Depending on the nationality, one can apply for either:

  • a single-entry Turkish e-Visa for a stay of up to 30 days;
  • a multiple-entry Turkish e-Visa for a stay of up to 90 days.

Please note that regardless of the type of e-Visa for Turkey you hold, you can use your online visa only for a trip to Turkey related to tourism, transit, or business.

For any other purpose, you will need to contact the nearest embassy or consulate of Turkey and obtain a relevant visa in a traditional way.

Consult the requirements section and gather all documents required for your nationality. Next, go to the application panel and follow these simple steps:

  • Fill out the online form: provide necessary details including your personal data as well as travel-related information, passport data, and contact details. Check thoroughly all the data entered and only then proceed to the next step.
  1. Upload supporting documents: attach the previously prepared documents necessary to complete the online application.
  2. Cover the eVisa fee payment: use your credit/debit card, PayPal, or any other method of online payment from the available ones to pay the processing fee.

Shortly after covering the visa fee, make sure to refresh your email inbox and check for the confirmation email. Your approved e-Visa for Turkey will be also delivered to you via email as soon as it is approved by the Turkish Government.

Please do remember to print out the received file with your e-Visa confirmation and have it ready to show when crossing the Turkish borders.

The following nationalities can apply for a multiple-entry e-Visa for Turkey, which entitles them to a 90-day stay in Turkey throughout a 6-month validity period.
Apart from a passport with a 6-month validity, no supporting documents are needed, except for the countries marked with ‘**’.

  • A hotel booking proof and return ticket copy
  • Min. US $50 for each day of the entire duration of stay in Turkey (or the equivalent in foreign currency)

Single-entry Turkish e-Visa

The following countries’ nationals are eligible for a single-entry e-Visa for a 30-day stay in Turkey which remains valid for 6 months. Depending on the applicants’ nationality certain additional documents may be needed.

Nationals of the countries from the above list may need to upload certain additional documents, including:

  • A valid visa or a residence permit issued by one off the Schengen member countries, the UK, Ireland, or the USA (It cannot be an e-Visa).
  • A return ticket, hotel reservation, and at least US $50 per day of stay.

Transit Information

If you are a traveler who will be only transiting Turkey before reaching your final destination, you do not need to apply for an e-Visa. However, if you plan to exit the transit zone during your transit stop in Turkey before you take your connecting flight, do remember to obtain a visa before arriving in Turkey.

When will I receive my e-Visa to Turkey?

Your Turkey e-Visa will be sent to your email address as soon as the Turkish Government approves it. The processing time entirely depends on the Turkish authorities and is beyond our control.

Do I need to print the Turkey e-Visa?

Yes. Once you receive an email containing your Turkey e-Visa, make sure to download it and print it out. Be also prepared to show its copy to the border official when asked.

What if my e-Visa to Turkey is not approved?
