Vietnam eVisa is an online visa that the Vietnamese authorities implemented in 2017. The visa is available for eligible foreigners who wish to travel to Vietnam for short-term purposes related to leisure, business or transit.

There is only one type of Vietnam eVisa, which is a single-entry permit allowing one to stay in Vietnam for up to 30 days. The visa covers the following travel purposes:

  • tourism: all kinds of leisure-related purposes, such as vacations, family and friend reunions, sightseeing, etc.;
  • business: handling various business affairs, including contract negotiations, business events/meeting/conferences;
  • transit: stopping in Vietnam on your way to the final destination.

It shouldn’t take you more than 15 minutes to successfully submit your Vietnam eVisa application. Just make sure to follow these simple steps:

  3. Refresh your email address and receive the approved eVisa delivered to you as a PDF file. Print it out and set off for Vietnam!

Please note that it may take up to 5 business days to receive your eVisa approval. What is more, the processing time is at the total discretion of the Government of Vietnam and may extend under certain circumstances. Always remembr to double-check the information provided in the application form to ensure that no corrections will be necessary.

The Vietnam electronic visa is issued for 30 days, while the validity period starts on the date you plan to enter Vietnam. You will need to exit the country before your visa expires.
Provide the correct date of your intended arrival in Vietnam when applying online to ensure that your visa will cover the entire duration of your trip.
Moreover, please note that you can extend your Vietnam eVisa by covering an additional extension fee. For this purpose, contact the local Immigration Department Office.

Additionally, there are some nationalities who can enjoy visa-free entry to Vietnam for a stipulated length of time:

  • Chile: a stay not exceeding 90 days
  • Cambodia, Kyrgyzstan, Indonesia, Laos, Singapore,Malaysia, Thailand: a stay not exceeding 30 days
  • Philippines: a stay up to 21 days
  • Myanmar, Brunei: a stay up to 14 days
  • Denmark, Belarus, France, Spain, Finland, South Korea, Italy, Germany, Norway, Japan, Russia, Sweden, United Kingdom: a stay up to 15 days

Important! Each citizens allowed a 15-day visa-free stay must remember to exit the country for at least 30 days and only then they can enter Vietnam again for another 15-day stay without a visa.

Also, if you are eligible for a visa-free entry but you wish to stay in Vietnam for longer, you should apply for a visa covering the duration of your planned stay in Vietnam.

When will I receive my eVisa to Vietnam?
